On February 13, the Rotary Club of Ocean Springs presented the United MSD Foundation/Warriors for Willow with a $5,000 check to support efforts to fund research and clinical trials to find a cure for Multiple Sulfatase Deficiency (MSD). Willow Cannan, daughter of Rotarians Tom Cannan and Amber Olsen, was diagnosed with the ultra-rare disease in May 2016. Since Willow’s diagnosis, her parents have work tirelessly to connect with scientists and clinicians who are working to find cures or treatments for MSD. As part of this effort, they founded the United MSD Foundation. The Club’s annual fundraiser, 5-K RACE for Art, Community, and Education, helps fund donations made by the Club.
