During our December 14th meeting, the Rotary Club of Ocean Springs presented a check for $700.00 to Natalia Diaz, representing the Duchess Club of Ocean Springs. The Duchess Club is a civic group of 25 women from the Ocean Springs Community. The donation was in support of their campaign to provide Christmas presents to over 100 children in the Ocean Springs area.

During our December 7th, 2016 meeting, the Rotary Club of Ocean Springs presented Ocean Springs HS Cross Country Team Coach, Tim Sayers with a check for $1,000. Coach Sayers and members of the Cross Country Team provided support as volunteers at our recent 5K Run; a fundraising event providing scholarships to local high school students. The $1,000 donation to the Cross Country Team will be used to purchase much needed timing chips for training and meets. We would like to thank all of our fellow Ocean Springs Rotarians and family members who spent time on Saturday, December 3rd, ringing the bell for The Salvation Army in front of the Ocean Springs Walmart. We had several members manning the doors during 1 1/2 hour shifts. And many thanks to all of those who stopped by to support the effort!!
